چکیده
Abstract Purpose To assess clinical features, therapy, and outcome of the myositis associated with anti-MDA5 antibodies, to propose a successful therapeutic protocol for rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (RP-ILD) in dermatomyositis (DM). Methods A retrospective descriptive study three cases was conducted Department Internal Medicine University Hospital Hedi Chaker, Sfax, Tunisia, between 1996 2016. Results From series 115 myositis, anti-MDA5-positive DM were identified. They men mean age 63 years. manifested specific cutaneous manifestations including ulcers palmar papules, mild muscular involvement, RP-ILD. The severity correlated ILD all patients. Aggressive therapies tried high-dose corticoids, cyclophosphamide (CYC) cures, intravenous immunoglobulins, rituximab (RTX), good patient who received combined high steroids, CYC, RTX pulses. two other patients died because rapid worsening their respiratory condition. Conclusion Anti-MDA positive is characterised by phenotype, discretion signs, correlation poor prognosis this entity resistance pulmonary involvement despite aggressive therapeutics. combination has shown results many reports, as well one our

Clinical features of lupus myositis versus idiopathic myositis: a review of 30 cases.
Myositis is a rare but well-recognized complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It is reputed to be milder than primary myositis in terms of morbidity and treatment response. This study compares clinical and laboratory features of idiopathic inflammatory myositis in patients with and without evidence of SLE overlap. We performed a case note review of 30 patients with probable or defi...
متن کاملOrbital Myositis: Evaluating Five New Cases Regarding Clinical and Radiological Features.
Orbital myositis (OM) is an inflammatory disorder of the extraocular muscles. The signs and symptoms of OM are periorbital pain, eyelid swelling and redness, restricted ocular motility, and strabismus. There are at least two major forms, described by Benedikt GH Schoser, a limited oligosymptomatic ocular myositis (LOOM), which is associated with conjunctival injection only, and severe exophthal...
متن کاملClinical significance of maternal anti-Cw antibodies: a review of three cases and literature.
Anti Cw antibody is a low frequency immunoglobulin (IgG) against red cell antigen- Cw. It is clinically significant and may cause haemolytic disease of the newborn. Due to its low frequency, it is not included in routine antenatal antibody screening panel. The incidence of Anti Cw antibodies has not been reported in our population. Here, we describe the clinical and laboratory spectra of three ...
متن کاملGram-negative bacteraemia: new therapeutic possibilities with anti-endotoxin antibodies.
Gram-negative bacteria are coated by highly toxic and chemically stable lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 1endotoxin) which is partially shed when he bacteria are destroyed [1], e.g. by antibiotics in the blood of the patient. Since antibiotics have no effect on the LPS [2], this toxic LPS persists in the circulation of affected patients and causes much of the mortality and morbidity in gram-negative ba...
